2. Nephi 25:23

For we labor dilligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.

2. Nephi 25:20

2 Nephi 25:20

And now, my brethren, I have spoken plainly that ye cannot err. And as the Lord God liveth that brought Israel up out of the Land of Egypt, and gave unto Moses power that he should heal the nations after they had been bitten by the poisonous serpents, if they would cast their eyes unto the serpent which he did raise up before them, and also gave him power that he should smite the rock and the water should come forth; yea, behold I say unto you, that as these things are true, and as the Lord God liveth, there is none other name given under heaven save it be Jesus Christ, or which I have spoken, whereby man can be saved.

2. Nephi 25:16 - 19

Und nachdem sie zerstreut worden sind und der Herr, Gott, sie durch andere Nationen für den Zeitraum vieler Generationen gezüchtigt hat, ja, selbst hinab von Generation zu Generation, bis sie dazu bewegt werden, an Christus, den Sohn Gottes, zu glauben und das Sühnopfer, das unbegrenzt für die ganze Menschheit ist - und wenn der Tag kommt, da sie an Christus glauben und den Vater in seinem Namen mit lauterem Herzen und reinen Händen anbeten und nicht mehr nach einem anderen Messias ausschauen, dann, zu jener Zeit, wird der Tag kommen, da es notwendigerwise ratsam ist, daß sie dies alles glauben sollen.

Und der Herr wird wieder, zum zweitenmal, seine Hand heben, um sein Volk aus dessen verolorenem und gefallenem Zustand wiederherzustellen. Darum wird er darangehen, unter den Menschenkindern ein wunderbares Werk, ja, ein Wunder, zu vollbringen.

Darum wird er seine Worte an sie hervorbringen lassen, und diese Worte werden am letzten Tag über richten; denn sie werden ihnen zu dem Zweck gegeben, sie vom wahren Messias zu überzeugen, daß sie nicht mehr danach ausschauen müssen, daß ein Messias kommt; denn es wird keiner kommen, außer es sei ein falscher Messias, der das Volk täuschen möchte; denn es gibt nur einen Messias, von dem die Propheten gesprochen haben, und das ist jener Messias, der von den Juden verworfen werden wird.

Denn gemäß den Worten der Propheten kommt der Messias sechshundert Jahre nach der Zeit, da mein Vater Jerusalem verlassen hat; und gemäß den Worten der Propheten und auch dem Wort des Engels Gottes wird sein Name Jesus Christus sein, der Sohn Gottes.

2 Nephi 25:16 - 19

And after they have been scattered, and the Lord God hath scourged them by other nations for the space of many generation, yea, even down from generation to generation until they shall be persuaded to believe in Christ, the Son of God, and the atonement, which is infinite for all mankine - and when that day shall come that they shall believe in Christ, and worship the Father in his name, with pure hearts ancd clean hands, and look not forward any more for another Messiah, then, at that time, the day will come that it must needs be expedient that they should believe these things.

And the Lord will set his hand again the second time to restore his people from their lost and fallen state. Wherefore, he will proceed to do a marvelous work and a wonder among the children of men.

Wherefore, he shall bringn forth his words unto them, which words shall judge them at the last day, for they shall be given them for the purpose of convincing of them that they need not look forward any more for a Mesiah to come, for there should not any come, save it should be a falseMessiah which should decieve the people; for there is save one Messiah spoken of by the prophets, adn that Messiah is he who should be rejected of the Jews.

For according to the words of the prophets, the Messiah cometh in six hundred years from the time that my father left Jerusalem; and according to the words of the prophets, and also the word of the angel of God, his name shall be Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

2. Nephi 25:13

Siehe, sie werden ihn kreuzigen; und nachdem er für den Zeitraum von drei Tagen in einem Grab gelegen hat, wird er von drei Tagen in einem Grab gelegen hat, wird er von den Toten auferstehen, mit Heilung in seinen Flügeln; und alle, die an seinen Namen glauben, werden im Reich Gottes errettet sein. 2 Nephi 25:13

Behold, they will crucify him; and after he is laid in a sepulchure for the space of three days he shall rise from the dead, with healing in his wings; and all those who shall believe on his name shall be saved in the kingdom of God. Wherefore, my soul delighteth to prophesy concerning him, for I have seen his day, and my heart doth magnify his holy name.

2. Nephi 11:7

Behold, my soul delighteth in proving unto my people the truth of the coming of Christ; for, for this end hath the law of Moses been given; and all things which have been given of God from the beginning of the world, unto man, are the typifying of him.

2. Nephi 11:2 - 3

Und nun schreibe ich, Nephi, weitere Worte Jesajas, denn meine Seele erfreut sich an seinen Worten. Denn ich werde seine Worte auf mein Volk anwenden, und ich werde sie allen meinen Kindern, kundtun, denn er hat wahrhaftig meinen Erlöser gesehen, ebenso wie ich ihn gesehen habe.

Und auch mein Bruder Jakob hat ihn gesehen, wie ich ihn gesehen habe; darum werde ich ihre Worte meinen Kindern kundtun, um ihnen zu beweisen, daß meine Worte wahr sind. Darum, so hat Gott gesprochen, werde ich mein Wort durch das Wort von dreien bestätigen. Doch Gott schickt weitere Zeugen, und er beweist alle seine Worte.

2 Nephi 11:2 - 3

And now I , Nephi, write more of the words of Isaiah, for my soul delighteth in his words. For I will liken his words unto my people, and I will send them forth unto all my children, for he verily saw my Redeemer, even as I have seen him.

And my brother, Jacob, also has seen him as I have seen him; wherefore, I will send their words forth unto my children to prove unto them that my words are true. Wherefore, by the words of three, God hath said, I will establish my word. Nevertheless, God sendeth more witnesses, and he proveth all his words.

1. Nephi 22:20 - 21

Und der Herr wird gewiß einen Weg für sein Volk bereiten, damit die Worte des Mose erfüllt werden können, die er sprach, nämlich: Eine Propheten geich mir wird der Herr, euer Gott, euch erwecken; auf ihn sollt ihr hören in allem, was auch immer er euch sagen wird. Und es wird sich begeben: Alle, die nicht auf diesen Propheten hören wollen, sollen aus dem Volk abgeschnitten werden.

Und ich, Nephi, verkünde euch nun, daß dieser Prophet, von dem Mose gesprochen hat, der Heilige Israels ist; darum wird er Gericht halten in Rechtschaffenheit.

1 Nephi 22:20 - 21

And the Lord will surely prepare a way for his people, unto the fulfilling of the words of Moses, which he spake, saying: A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass that all those who will not hear that prophet shall be cut off from among the people.

And now I, Nephi, declare unto you, that this prophet of whom Moses spake was the Holy One of Israel; wherefore, he shall execute judgment in righteousness.

1. Nephi 19:8 - 9

And the world, because of their iniquity, shall judge him to be a thing of naught; wherefore they scourge him, and he suffereth it; and they smite him; and he suffereth it. Yea, they spit upon him, and he suffereth it, because of his long-suffering towrds the children of men.

1. Nephi 11:32 - 33

And it came to pass that the angel spake unto me again, saying: Look! And I looked and beheld the Lamb of God, that he was taken by the people; yea, the Son of the everlasting God was judged of the world' and I saw and bear record.

And I, Nephi, saw that he was lifted up upon the cross and slain for the sins of the world.

1. Nephi 11:31

Und abermals sprach er zu mir: Schau! Und ich schaute, und ich sah das Lamm Gottes, das unter die Menschenkinder ging. And he spake unto me again, saying: Look! And I looked, and I beheld the Lamb of God going forth among the children of men. And I beheld multitudes of people who were sick, and who were afflicted with all manner of diseases, and with devils and unclean spirits; and the angel spake and showed all these things unto me. And they were healed by the power of the Lamb of God; and the devils and the unclean spirits were cast out.

1. Nephi 11:27

And I looked and beheld the Redeemer of the world, of whom my father had spoken; and I also beheld the prophet who should prepare the way before him. And the Lamb of God went forth and was baptized of him; and after he was baptized, I beheld the heavens open, and the Holy Ghost come down out of heaven and abide upon him in the form of a dove.

And I looked and beheld the virgin again, bearing a child in her arms.

And the angel said unto me: Behold the Lamb of God, yea, even the Son of the Eternal Father!...

1. Nephi 11:13 - 15, 18

And it came to pass that I looked and beheld the great city of Jerusalem, and also other cities. And I beheld the city of Nazareth; and in the city of Nazareth I beheld a virgin, and she was exceedingly fair and white.

And it came to pass that I saw the heavens open; and an angel came down adn stood before me; and he said unto me: Nephi, what beholdest thou?

And I said unto him: A virgin, most beautiful and fair above all other virgins...

... And he said unto me: Behold, the virgin whom thou seest ist the mother of the Son of God, after the manner of the flesh.

1. Nephi 10:17

And it came to pass after I, Nephi, having heard all the words of my father, concerning the things which he saw in a vision, and also the things which he spake by teh power of the Holy Ghost, which power he received by faith on the Son of God - and the Son of God was the Messiah who should come - I, Nephi, was desirous also that I might see, and hear, and know of these things, by the power of the Holy Ghost, which is the gift of God unto all those who dilligently seek him, as well in times of old as in the time that he should manifest himself unto the children of men.

Nephi war ein Sohn Lehis. Im Gegensatz zu seinen älteren Brüdern wollte Nephi das verstehen, was sein Vater ihnen prophezeit hatte, besonders seine Prophezeiungen in Bezug auf das Kommen des Erretters. Wegen seines Glaubens und Eifers hatte der Herr ihn zu einem Herrscher und Lehrer über seinen älteren Brüdern gemacht (1. Nephi 3:29) und hatte auch das Vorrecht, den ganzen Dienst des Erretters in einer Vision zu sehen (1. Nephi 11 - 12). Obwohl er sein ganzes Laben lang viel Verfolgung von seinen älteren Brüdern erleiden musste, hatte er niemals seinen Glauben veloren und blieb true bis ans Ende. Seine Prophezeiungen von Jesus Chrisus und das Zeugnis, das er vom Sühnopfer hatte, helfen uns, unsere Kenntnis und Glauben an Jesus Christus zu stärken...

Nephi's Testimony

Nephi was one of Lehi's sons. Unlike his two older brothers, Nephi sought to understand the things which his father had prophesied unto them, especially his prophecies concerning the coming of the Saviour. Because of his faith and dilligence, the Lord made him ruler and teacher over his older brethren (1 Nephi 3:29), and he was privileged to see the whole ministry of the Savior in a vision (1 Nephi 11 - 12). Although he had to suffer much persecution from his older brothers during his life, he never lost faith and remained true and faithful to the end. His prophecies concerning Jesus Christ and the testimony he has of the Atonement help strengthen our knowledge and faith in Jesus Christ...

2. Nephi 2:6 - 9

Darum kommt die Erlösung im heiligen Messias und durch ihn; denn er ist voller Gnade und Wahrheit.

Siehe, er bringt sich selbst als Opfer für Sünde dar, um den Zwecken des Gesetzes Genüge zu leisten für alle, die ein reuiges Herz und einen zerknirschten Geist haben; und für niemanden sonst kann den Zwecken des Gesetzes Genüge geleistet werden.

Wie wichtig ist es daher, daß all dies den Bewohnern der Erde verkündet wird, damit sie erkennen mögen, daß kein Fleisch in der Gegenwart Gottes wohnen kann außer durch die Verdienste und die Barmherzigkeit und Gnade des heiligen Messias, der sein Leben niederlegt gemäß dem Fleische und es wieder nimmt durch die Macht des Geistes, auf daß er die Auferstehung der Toten zustande bringe; denn er wird der erste sein, der aufersteht.

Darum ist er die Erstlingsgabe für Gott, so daß er für alle Menschenkinder Fürsprache einlegen wird; und wer an ihn glaubt, der wird errettet werden.

2 Nephi 2:6 - 9

Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth.

Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.

Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it agian by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, beign the first that should rise.

Wherefore, he is the firstfruits unto God, inasmuch as he shall make intercession for all the children of men; and they that believe in him shall be saved.

ja, er werde nämlich hinausgehen in die Wildnis und rufen: Bereitet den Weg des Herrn, und macht seine Pfade gerade; denn mitten unter euch steht einer, den ihr nicht kennt; und er ist mächtiger als ich, der ich nicht wert bin, die Riemen seiner Schuhe zu lösen. Und vieles sprach mein Vater darüber.

Und mein Vater sagte, er werden in Betabara, jenseits des Jordans, taufen; und er sagte auch, er werde mit Wasser taufen, ja, selbst den Messias werde er mit Wasser taufen.

Und nachdem er den Messias mit Wasser getauft habe, werde er sehen und Zeugnis geben, dass er das Lamm Gottes getauft habe, das die Sünden der Welt hinwegnehmen werde.

Und es beegab sich: Nachdem mein Vater diese Worte gesprochen hatte, redete er mit meinen Brüdern über das Evengelium, das unter den Juden gepredigt werden sollte, und auch, dass die Juden in Unglauben verfallen würden. Und nachdem sie den Messias, der da kommen soll, getötet haben würden; und nachdem er getötet worden sei, werde er von den Toten auferstehen und sich durch den Heligen Geist den Andern kundtun.

1 Nephi 10:4 - 11

Yea, even six hundred years from the time that my father left Jerusalem, a prophet would the Lord God raise up among the Jews - even a Messiah, or in other words, a Savior of the world.

And he also spake concerning the prophets, how great a nmber had testified of these things, concerning this Messiah, of whom he had spoken, or this Redeemer of the world.

Wherefore, all mankind were in a lost and in a fallen state, and ever woudl be save they should rely on this Redeemer.

And he spake also concerning a prophet who should come before the Messiah, to prepare the way of the Lord -

Yea, even he should go forth and cry in the wilderness: Prepare ye the way of the Lord, and make his paths straight; for there standeth one among you whom ye know not; and he is mightier than I, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose. And much spake my father concerning this thing.

And my father said he should baptize in Bethabara, beyond Jordan; and he also said he should baptize with water; even that he should baptize the Messiah with water.

And after he had baptized the Messiah with water, he should behold and bear record that he had baptized the Lamb of God, who should take away the sins of the world.

And it came to pass after my father had spoken these words he spake unto by brethren concerning the gospel which should be preached among the Jews, and also concerning the dwindling of the Jews in unbelief. And after they had slain the Messiah, who should come, and after had been slain he should rise from the dead, and should make himself manifest, by the Holy Ghost, unto the Gentiles.

1. Nephi 1:19

Lehi war ein Prophet, der um dieselbe Zeit wie der Prophet Jeremia aus dem alten Testament lebte, ungefähr 600 v.Chr (1. Nephi 7:14). Wie Jeremia, wurde er von Gott berufen, dem Volk Umkehr zu predigen (1. Nephi 1:18). Das Volk war zornig auf ihn und trachtete danach, ihm das Leben zu nehmen (1. Nephi 1:19 - 20). Lehi wurde davor in einem Traum gewarnt, und er und seine Familie verliessen die Stadt, bevor diese bösen Menschen ihre Plänne ausführen konnten (1. Nephi 2:2 - 4). Der Herr half Lehi und seiner Familie auf ihrer Reise durch die Wildnis, wo sie schlieslich ein Schiff bauten und ueber die grossen Wasser querten, hin zu dem Land, das ihnen verheissen wurde.

Lehi brachte seiner Frau und Kindern viele wichtige Sachen auf dem Reiseweg bei. Lehi's Testimony

Lehi was a prophet who lived around the same time as the Old Testament Prophet Jeremiah, approximately 600 B.C. (1 Nephi 7:14). He, like Jeremiah, was called by God to preach repentance unto the people (1 Nephi 1:18). The people were angry with him and sought to take away his life (1 Nephi 1:19 - 20). Lehi was warned of this in a dream, and he and his family escaped Jerusalem before these wicked men could carry out their plans (1 Nephi 2:2 - 4). The Lord helped Lehi and his family on their journey through the wilderness, where they eventually built a ship and cross the great waters to the land that was promised them.

Lehi taught his wife and children many important things during their travels. His vision of the tree of life for example, teaches us about the love of God and what we must do to be able to feel this love in our lives (1 Nephi 8). But the most important thing he taught was that the Saviour of the world was going to come. The following scriptures contain Lehi's testimony of the coming of the Son of God.....

Das Konzept dieser Seite stammt von einem Projekt, das ich unternommen hatte, als ich als Missionar der Kirche Jesu Christi der Heiligen der letzten Tage in der Schweiz diente. Ich machte mich platz in meinem Heft, Zeugnisse von den Propheten aus dem Buch Mormon zu schreiben. Ich machte Platz darin fuer jeden Prophet aus dem Buch Mormon, und wann auch immer ein Prophet sein Zeugnis von Jesus Christus abgelegt hatte, schrieb ich die Schriftstelle nider, damit ich sie später wieder lesen konnte.

My companion and I later on compiled a short book of these testimonies for an investigator who could not see how the Book of Mormon could be another testament of Jesus Christ. The book helped her see how the book does stand as another witness for the Saviour's divinity and mission as she read the suggested passages in the book we gave her.

This evening I felt the inspiration that I should share with you the testimonies that I have found within the Book of Mormon. It is for this purpose that this blog page was created. I hope these testimonies will strengthen your testimony of Jesus Christ and his atonement, just as my testimony was strengthened as I read them. I know that the Book of Mormon does contain the word of God, and I know that as we study daily in the Book of Mormon, we can draw closer to God, just as Joseph Smith declared in the Introduction to the Book of Mormon: "I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book".

Heute Abend hatte ich das Inspiration bekommen, dass ich mit Ihnen de Zeugnisse, die ich im Buch Mormon gefunden habe, mitteilen soll. Zu diesem Zweck wurde diese Seite erstellt. Ich hoffe, dass diese Zeugnisse Ihr Zeugnis von Jesus Christus und sein Sühnopfer stärken werden, genau wie mein Zeugni gesärkt wurde, als ich sie gelesen hatte. Introduction to "Another Testament of Jesus Christ"

The idea for setting up this blog page comes from a project that I had been working on while I was serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Switzerland. I had left some space in my study journal to record testimonies of Book of Mormon prophets, namely their testimonies of Jesus Christ. I had left some space for each Book of Mormon prophet, and as each prophet bore their testimony of Jesus Christ, I would write the reference down, so that I could read them again later.
