2. Nephi 2:6 - 9

Darum kommt die Erlösung im heiligen Messias und durch ihn; denn er ist voller Gnade und Wahrheit.

Siehe, er bringt sich selbst als Opfer für Sünde dar, um den Zwecken des Gesetzes Genüge zu leisten für alle, die ein reuiges Herz und einen zerknirschten Geist haben; und für niemanden sonst kann den Zwecken des Gesetzes Genüge geleistet werden.

Wie wichtig ist es daher, daß all dies den Bewohnern der Erde verkündet wird, damit sie erkennen mögen, daß kein Fleisch in der Gegenwart Gottes wohnen kann außer durch die Verdienste und die Barmherzigkeit und Gnade des heiligen Messias, der sein Leben niederlegt gemäß dem Fleische und es wieder nimmt durch die Macht des Geistes, auf daß er die Auferstehung der Toten zustande bringe; denn er wird der erste sein, der aufersteht.

Darum ist er die Erstlingsgabe für Gott, so daß er für alle Menschenkinder Fürsprache einlegen wird; und wer an ihn glaubt, der wird errettet werden.

2 Nephi 2:6 - 9

Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth.

Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.

Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it agian by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, beign the first that should rise.

Wherefore, he is the firstfruits unto God, inasmuch as he shall make intercession for all the children of men; and they that believe in him shall be saved.

Ja, nämlich nach sechshundert Jahren von der zeit an, da mein Vater Jerusalem verlassen hatte - einen Propheten werde der Herr, Gott, unter den Juden erweken, selbst einen Messias oder, mit anderen Worten, einen Erretter der Welt.

Und er spracdh auch von den Propheten, welch große Zahl davon Zeugnis gegeben hatte, von diesem Messias, von dem er gesprochen hatte, oder diesem Erlöser der Welt.

Darum seien alle Menschen in einem verlorenen und in einem gefallenen Zustand und würden für immer darin verbleiben, ween sie nicht auf diesen Erlöser bauten.

Und er sprach auch von einem Prophetn, der vor dem Messias kommen sollte, um den Weg des Herrn zu bereiten -

ja, er werde nämlich hinausgehen in die Wildnis und rufen: Bereitet den Weg des Herrn, und macht seine Pfade gerade; denn mitten unter euch steht einer, den ihr nicht kennt; und er ist mächtiger als ich, der ich nicht wert bin, die Riemen seiner Schuhe zu lösen. Und vieles sprach mein Vater darüber.

Und mein Vater sagte, er werden in Betabara, jenseits des Jordans, taufen; und er sagte auch, er werde mit Wasser taufen, ja, selbst den Messias werde er mit Wasser taufen.

Und nachdem er den Messias mit Wasser getauft habe, werde er sehen und Zeugnis geben, dass er das Lamm Gottes getauft habe, das die Sünden der Welt hinwegnehmen werde.

Und es beegab sich: Nachdem mein Vater diese Worte gesprochen hatte, redete er mit meinen Brüdern über das Evengelium, das unter den Juden gepredigt werden sollte, und auch, dass die Juden in Unglauben verfallen würden. Und nachdem sie den Messias, der da kommen soll, getötet haben würden; und nachdem er getötet worden sei, werde er von den Toten auferstehen und sich durch den Heligen Geist den Andern kundtun.

Yea, even six hundred years from the time that my father left Jerusalem, a prophet would the Lord God raise up among the Jews - even a Messiah, or in other words, a Savior of the world.

And he also spake concerning the prophets, how great a nmber had testified of these things, concerning this Messiah, of whom he had spoken, or this Redeemer of the world.

Wherefore, all mankind were in a lost and in a fallen state, and ever woudl be save they should rely on this Redeemer.

And he spake also concerning a prophet who should come before the Messiah, to prepare the way of the Lord -

Yea, even he should go forth and cry in the wilderness: Prepare ye the way of the Lord, and make his paths straight; for there standeth one among you whom ye know not; and he is mightier than I, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose. And much spake my father concerning this thing.

And my father said he should baptize in Bethabara, beyond Jordan; and he also said he should baptize with water; even that he should baptize the Messiah with water.

And after he had baptized the Messiah with water, he should behold and bear record that he had baptized the Lamb of God, who should take away the sins of the world.

And it came to pass after my father had spoken these words he spake unto by brethren concerning the gospel which should be preached among the Jews, and also concerning the dwindling of the Jews in unbelief. And after they had slain the Messiah, who should come, and after had been slain he should rise from the dead, and should make himself manifest, by the Holy Ghost, unto the Gentiles.

1. Nephi 1:19

Und es begab sich: Die Juden verspotteten ihn, weil er solches von ihnen bezeugte; denn er bezeugte wahrhaftig ihre Schlechtigkeit und ihre Greuel; und er bezeugte, dass das, was er gesehen und gehört hatte, und ebenso das, was er in dem Buch gelesen hatte, klar vom Kommen eines Messias Kunde gab und auch von der Erlösung der Welt.

And it came to pass that the Jews did mock him because of the things which he testified of them; for he truly testified of their wickedness and their abominations; and he testified that the things which he saw and heard, and also the things which he read in the book, manifested plainly of the coming of a Messiah, and also the redemption of the world.

Lehi war ein Prophet, der um dieselbe Zeit wie der Prophet Jeremia aus dem alten Testament lebte, ungefähr 600 v.Chr (1. Nephi 7:14). Wie Jeremia, wurde er von Gott berufen, dem Volk Umkehr zu predigen (1. Nephi 1:18). Das Volk war zornig auf ihn und trachtete danach, ihm das Leben zu nehmen (1. Nephi 1:19 - 20). Lehi wurde davor in einem Traum gewarnt, und er und seine Familie verliessen die Stadt, bevor diese bösen Menschen ihre Plänne ausführen konnten (1. Nephi 2:2 - 4). Der Herr half Lehi und seiner Familie auf ihrer Reise durch die Wildnis, wo sie schlieslich ein Schiff bauten und ueber die grossen Wasser querten, hin zu dem Land, das ihnen verheissen wurde.

Lehi brachte seiner Frau und Kindern viele wichtige Sachen auf dem Reiseweg bei. Seine Vision vom Baum des Lebens, zum Beispiel, lehrt uns über die Liebe Gottes und was wir tun müssen, um diese Liebe in unserem Leben spüren zu können (1. Nephi 8). Aber das Wichtigste, das er lehrte, war, dass der Erretter der Welt bald kommen würde. Die folgenden Schriftstellen enthalten Lehis Zeugnis vom Kommen des Sohnes Gottes...

Lehi's Testimony

Lehi was a prophet who lived around the same time as the Old Testament Prophet Jeremiah, approximately 600 B.C. (1 Nephi 7:14). He, like Jeremiah, was called by God to preach repentance unto the people (1 Nephi 1:18). The people were angry with him and sought to take away his life (1 Nephi 1:19 - 20). Lehi was warned of this in a dream, and he and his family escaped Jerusalem before these wicked men could carry out their plans (1 Nephi 2:2 - 4). The Lord helped Lehi and his family on their journey through the wilderness, where they eventually built a ship and cross the great waters to the land that was promised them.

Lehi taught his wife and children many important things during their travels. His vision of the tree of life for example, teaches us about the love of God and what we must do to be able to feel this love in our lives (1 Nephi 8). But the most important thing he taught was that the Saviour of the world was going to come. The following scriptures contain Lehi's testimony of the coming of the Son of God.....
